According to Feeding America, 1 in 4 Missouri children lives in a household that struggles with hunger. These children rely on school meals to get them through the day, making school breakfast and lunch programs vital to their success.
When children eat breakfast, they
- perform better on tests;
- experience improved memory and concentration;
- achieve stronger attendance records;
- visit the school nurse less often.
With support from the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC), Operation Food Search is working to increase breakfast participation across the state and to showcase innovative approaches and best practices for school breakfast.
